Ginger (Shampoo plant) is Green when young turning to red as they mature.
The videos show the extraction of shampoo from the plants’ flowers and collection in a measuring cup. The amount of shampoo collected in the video will last about 3 head washes. The extracted shampoo can also be used as a hand wash or moisturizer.
The collected shampoo feels soapy, but doesn’t lather you, it is unique in a way that you can apply it and leave it without rinsing. It has a light fresh scent. The extracted shampoo keeps well in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
